The progression from ape to man took place over millions of years as each generation adapted a little more to help them survive their environments.Roosters and crocodiles are already suited to their usual places and do not move as much as humans, so have less need to adapt. It wasn’t a magic trick. Also, birds are supposed (one theory) to be descended from dinosaurs – not the reptiles we are familiar with today.
