What are all the parts called that make up the steering of a bicycle. Give me a list of all the parts you need and what their purpose is. Also, how I measure my old pieces to know what size to get that would properly replace them. Thanks

There are a lot of different pieces. The parts that go into your frame itself is called the Headset. The Headset consists of two cups (upper and lower), a race on the fork and two "nuts" an adjustable and lock nut. Some headsets run on loose ball bearings while some ride on sealed bearings. To measure your headset you need a set of calipers. 1" head sets come in two sizes 28.6mm and 30.2mm. It is just best to take your bike to your local bike shop so they can measure it for you. The handlebars where you grab the bike are connected to the stem which is attached to the inside of the fork which runs through your frame. Hope this helps.

What kind of make up is good for oily and full of acne skin?

I have cystic acne, the really bad kind. I have scars as well and im really sensitive so I cant just use any type of make up. Any suggestions on which products are good for covering up and wouldnt cause irritation?

If your skin is oily it’s real important to use a foundation that’s oil free. You want to select a shade that exactly matches your skin tone. Foundation is designed to cover flaws and even out skin tone.

For active acne, you need to keep you face as clean as possible, and not use a heavy feeling foundation. Try a concealer stick that’s about 1-2 shades LIGHTER than your foundation for good coverage. You can put on either the foundation or concealer first, and then just blend, blend, blend.

For summer I life to use a tinted moisturizer. It feels light, but still covers what needs covering. Most makeup brands offer a variety of products for different skin types. Make sure that whatever brand you choose, you select a foundation that’s oil-free. Puting oily makeup on an oily face doesn’t provide good results.

I’m an Asian, my skin color is quite fair, have T-zone combination and have dark circle. I’m new to putting on make up and not very sure what type of foundation and shades are suitable for me. What make up goes with a bright yellow dress?

I have prom on Saturday and no make up artist. I have no idea what color make up to wear with a my bright yellow dress. Some help would be greatly appreciated.

(I know how you feel ’cause I just got done with my prom… it’s nightmarish lemme tell ya) Alright, first of all NEVER match your makeup with your outfit – it’s an extreme fashion faux-pas, no matter what anyone says. Go with the natural shades that accent your best features – if you pound on the makeup too dark, it’ll clash with your dress.

Here’s what I would do:

Apply a soft pink or coral on your lid. Next, add a brown or bronze color in your crease to give the "airbrush" effect. Then, take a slightly darker pink or brown and shade it into the outer part of your lid. After that, use a highlighting color (not white or it’ll wash you out) and place on your inner eye up to your brow bone. This makes you look more awake, and gives your eyes the extra light they need to sparkle. Finally, simply apply mascara. For a more dramatic eye, line the lid and inside line with liner (you could even go for a purple or green liner), and then you’re done!

To complete the look, you only need a dab of light blush powder on the apples of your cheeks, and a natural shade of lipstick or gloss (but not both).

If you want, you could go with a deep red lipstick – but if you’re going to do that, keep the eyes simple. You don’t want to look too over-done ^_^

How do freelance make-up artists go about finding work?

I am seriously considering a career as a make-up artist. To work on film + tv programmes as well as fashion shows + photoshoots. I plan on taking a course as I am a complete beginner. But I’d like to know, if any of you are in this field, how do you go about getting work? Are there agencies out there? Or just making contacts somehow? How do you do it?

I have a makeup artist for 20yrs. I have freelanced with photographers, fashion shows, all that you mention. I started out and tell everyone who is interested to go to a department store and apply for a cosmetics position. You will make great conatacts, the companies will train you for free and you will learn everything about the industry. You will have to a lot of foot workto do, Have a portfolio, go to modeling agencies with cards, find out what 1/2day and full day rates are for your area, be dilligent, on time, and professional. Most photographers will ask you to do more than just makeup,like hair and styling with clothes,ect… It will be a lot of who you know.This is why I say to get into the cosmetics departments. Not only will you learn but you will make money as well. Many of makeup artists in the departments moonlight with freelance until they make a name for themselves.

What make-up can you buy to cover up black rings around your eyes?

I’ve had a problem with my eyes for about a year now, either people tell me I look really tired, or they just tell me I have bags under my eyes. I don’t mind so much the bags that are there, but the black rings make me look like a skunk! Any make-up you can think of that would help that? I use concealer but that doesn’t help much. Thanks!

Things you can do to prevent them from returning in the future is to get more sleep and limit your caffeine.

But until you can eliminate them down the road, your best two products is a good full coverage concealer and a highlighter.

First, let’s talk about concealer….

A great full coverage concealer is Make Up Forever Full Coverage Concealer ($30 at Sephora.com). It covers up so well and lasts such a long time.

You can also try a color correcting concealer. To counteract the purple tones under eye circles have you can try a yellow concealer (use UNDER your regular color concealer). This doesn’t work for everyone though.

Next, using a highlighter…

Smashbox Photo Op Under Eye Brightener is a wonderful product. You use it after you’ve done your concealer and foundation. Just a little tapped into your skin under your eyes and the inner corner of your eye will help reflect light in a positive way that will help eliminate dark circles. But be careful – too much and you can look like you have a white mask on around your eyes (especially in photos).
