I have sensitive skin and currently wax my underarms. I am thinking about waxing my legs/bikini. Does anyone know what the best/safest numbing spray is? OR do"pain-free" waxing salons exist?

i wouldn’t think so, since it might prevent the wax grabbing your hair–make it slippery. but i have heard of claims in products to do that. why not check out the back of a waxing product that does and see what it says its ingredients are?

wax when you’re most relaxed and maybe take an ibuprofin or something before hand. ice might work too.

How can I find participating Locks of Love Salons in Milwaukee?

The website for Locks of Love no longer lists participating salons, but tells you to go to salons and look for their signs in the window. I don’t have the time to go around the city looking for signs. Any suggestions?

I too would call around since the site doesn’t list the salons anymore. Don’t forget, you can still have your regular stylist cut your hair (if you have one)

What is the difference between salon hair color and the stuff you can buy at the store and do at home?

Are there chemical differences? Or are you just paying extra for the salon professional to do the work?

chemically, no there is not a lot of difference… the problem with it is that a consumer cannot control the level of peroxide that is needed and does not know how to determine things like porosity and texture which is a big part of coloring hair. hair is chemistry and it’s more than just picking out a color and slapping it on… If you don’t know what you’re doing, you won’t end up with what you want…

so in other words… if you mess up you only have yourself to blame and will probably end up spending way more to have someone correct it for you…

I am currently a licensed massage therapist in the state of Florida but am planning to move to Montreal, Quebec (Canada). I would like to know how to apply for a Canadian massage therapist license via reciprocity. If you can also give me the link to the Canadian Board of Massage Therapy, it would be greatly appreciated. What makeup causes less breakouts and looks natural?

Well I really gotta look my best when I’m in public, but when I put on makeup it looks clumpy, unnatural, and causes me to have bad breakouts the next day. Which makeup looks the most natural, and causes less breakouts?

Go to Sephora!!!! Their stuff is usually higher quality than drugstore stuff. Also, check the ingredients list on the boxes to make sure there aren’t too many ingredients and no oil. A really good company is BeneFit, or Bare Escesntuals. Lastly, instead of liquid foundtion, which can get cakey, use pressed or loose powder.

I need to know how much spermine tetrahydrochloride and H2O to use to make up a 50mM solution. The molecular weight of spermine tetrahydrochloride is 348.2g and I would like to make up 20ml. Can you explain how to do this please?

50mM = .05M
20ml = .02l

.05M means you have .05 moles of spermine tetrahydrochloride in each liter of solution. You need .02l solution, so the moles of spermine tetrahydrochloride you need is:
.05M x .02l = .001 mol

The mass of spermine tetrahydrochloride you need:
.001 mol x 348.2g/mol = .3482g

So you need to add .3482g spermine tetrahydrochloride in to 20ml of water.

First things First…does your friend have a press or a perm? With a perm flat-ironing is much easier because you’re hair is pretty much straightened already but with a press it’s a little more work involved because you have to press your hair first before you flat iron, which means you have to be extra careful not to expose your hair to too much heat and create breakage and dryness.

You will need:
1) A Flat Iron
2) Sectioning Clips
3) Spritz (not hairspray or oil-sheen) or Anti-Frizz Product
4) Tail Comb
5) Blow Dryer

1. Wash Hair (optional: While hair is wet you use a frizz control product)

2. Blow dry hair until hair is 100% dry. You are just removing the moisture, so there is no need to straighten your hair at this point. That comes later. (optional: if you have a seated dryer at home you can braid hair into several braids and sit under the dryer until almost dry. At this point you can use the hair dryer to avoid using too much heat directly onto your hair)

Now you’re ready to flat-iron. Be careful, this tool gets very hot!

1. Draw thin sections of hair through flat iron slowly, but keep the iron moving. Comb hair smooth after each draw through of the iron. Continue until all of your hair has been straightened. On a lower heat setting you can back through your hair and with the same sweeping motion you can turn the iron under towards the ends of your hair to get a curl, making a u shape with the ends of your hair. You can use hairspray to finish the style when you’re done.

You might want to practice using your flat iron while it is cold until you get used to the feel and weight of the tool.

There are many options for flat irons, do your research to find which iron is the best for you. Ceramics have the latest technology.

I’m 13 and I love fashion and beauty, but I just don’t know how to be a fashionista/ fashion and beauty girl! I’m doing this for myself, by the way! What magazines do I read, make -up, any recommended stores, clothing lines, clothes, shoes, accessories, purses (I already have a small Coach Purse), what do fashionistas obsess over (except for fashion and beauty duh!), how do they act, any recommended books (fiction or nonfiction), what do they say a lot, what celebrities are their role models, how do I get great fashionista-baby soft skin, any bedroom (bathroom) make-overs, and any other suggestions are cool! I don’t want to be self-centered or mean, I am really nice actually.

Sorry, that’s a lot of stuff, but I just love fashion, just don’t know how to put it!

Always dress according to the ocasio and weather, keep your accessories cute, never mix&match, but don’t over accessorize. These days, the bigger the better. Don’t carry around a dinky little purse, get your oufit to look more fabulous by carrying a purse that has a lot of room and style to it. Jeans are very important. I love Citizens of Humanity, True Religions, and William Rast jeans. Do not get jeans that are too tight. You’ll get a muffin top which means that your fats goes over your jeans beacause your jeans are too tight. It was stated on E!’s 50 fashion do and don’t. Make sure to keep the length right, and the butt area looking fit. I use Nu Skin, which is not a very well known brand, but it is the best. I was breaking out one time, I applyed some facial acne creame, the next day it was gone. And for your make up, go to Sephora, not MAC. MAC makes you look like a cake face. GOOD LUCK!
