How do you get salon nails off?

I got acrylic nails put on at a nail salon, not just press on stuff that you buy at the store. They filed my nail down, added tips, glazed over with acrylic, yadda yadda… Anyway, they don’t come off really and I heard that at the salon, they just soak you in acetone to get them off. Can I soak my nails in acetone nail polish remover to get them off, or do I really need to go back to the salon?

Get some pure acetone at the drug store and soak them off. File off glue that is left.

Soak them in the Acetone remover. It should make them dissolve. Just don’t pull them off! They will hurt!

  14. Soak them in Acetone. You need to soak them for like 20 minutes or so, if you try and pull them off it will break your natural nail underneath. If they are stubborn, take them out after five minutes and GENTLY file them down a bit then put them back in the acetone, repeat this process till all the acrylic is off. Alternatively go to the nail bar and they will do this for you but they charge like $20. Good luck

Well my mom had those nails you could go back to the salon if you want to pay 25 bucks but we just bought acetone at the store and did it ourselves and they came out fine. Your nails will be damaged but you could just take vitamens

  16. You can soak them in acetone to soften them before removing. You don’t have to go back to the salon to have them removed. Just be careful, because if you remove too much of your nail (layers) they will be very sensitive. To the point where washing your hands in hot water will really hurt. I learned the hard way by biting them off and not only did it ruin my nails, but it took about 3 months for it all to grow out and look "normal" again. Good Luck.

  18. It would probably be best to go back to the salon and let them take them off. My mom tried soaking her nails in acetone nail polish but it made her nail so soft it bled when she went to take it off. It looks really painful! I have just let mine grow out without a fill in and they come off pretty easy but if you want it done quickly, I’d trust a really good nail tech.

  19. Yes you can do it at home. Just get some acetone and soak but be patient and careful not to harm your natural nail in the process. In the future I suggest growing your own. It’s time consuming but nothing is worth the damage that fake nails do.
Try nutra-nail products, you can pick them up almost anywhere and they’re cheap and work really well. Good luck!
