How come most nail salons are owned by Vietnamese?

I love to get my nail professionally done at a salon. However, I am curious as to why most nail salons are owned and operated by Vietnamese.

Unfortunately, getting a nail technician certification is alarmingly easy in America.

It’s also a field where Asian immigrants are already established and accepted.

The transisition to our country can be really hard for vietnamese immigrants….so getting into a profession that is already established for their "people" makes the change easier.

  12. Vietnamese immigrants are quick to recognize a window of opportunity when they see it. Ask yourself how many nail salons actually are owned and operated by Americans?
Maybe a nail salon is not exactly a posh or desirable job according to American standards, so immigrants fill that niche.

  14. Probably because all you do is get a few classes for nails and the start up cost could be cheap, and paying their workers, I believe is mostly on commision. So tip them well!
